OSHA Breakfast – Local Best Practices and Safety Wins
May 15 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am
$20.00Every year we like to have our OSHA Council Members share safety best practices from their organizations with fellow members. This year we have two organizations presenting, Tom Christophel from Hydro Extrusion USA LLC, along with Heather Tallman and Collin McGann from Polaris Marine.
Tom will share Hydro’s “Walk Observe Communicate” program, which encourages communication between leaders and employees and is one of the most impactful things they do for safety. It encompasses safety observations with JSA reviews covering PPE, tools, equipment, body placement and ergonomics, and any other aspects of the process that impact the teammate. It’s also used to solicit safety improvement ideas from the employees and generates action items to implement their ideas.
Heather and Collin will highlight Polaris Marine’s “Critical to Safety Program” that is a purposeful grass roots safety program developed with, and owned by, production leads to drive a positive culture and better safety results. It captures identified risks in each department, creates team ownership and accountability and is an effective tool for educating teams on specific regulatory and policy requirements
Please join us to learn about these safety best practices. There will be ample opportunities to ask questions of the presenters to get the details to see what may apply best in your organization. As always, we encourage the sharing of safety knowledge and experience from attendees; the more we share, the more we learn, the more our people stay safe!
Breakfast begins at 7:30 am; Program begins at 8 am
